Find Your Face Shape Without a Photo

Not sure whether your face is oval, round, square, heart, diamond or oblong? The Face Shape Calculator compares four simple measurements - face length, cheekbone width, forehead width and jawline width - and gives you a shape plus the reason behind it.

There is no photo upload and no signup. Measure with a soft tape, enter the four numbers in centimetres, press Calculate, and use the result to guide hairstyles, glasses and grooming choices.

What is a Face Shape Calculator?

A face shape calculator finds your face shape from four measurements instead of a photo. It compares face length (L), cheekbone width (C), forehead width (F) and jawline width (J) using the measurement-comparison method from published face-shape guides.

Heart: F is widest and J is much narrower. Diamond: C is widest while F and J are narrow. Oblong: L is at least 1.45 times C. Square or Round: L is within 1.15 times C. Otherwise, the result is Oval.

How to Use the Face Shape Calculator (Step by Step)

  1. Measure face length, cheekbones, forehead and jawline with a soft tape.
  2. Enter all four measurements in centimetres.
  3. Press Calculate for your shape plus the reason.

Example Calculation

Face length 18.5 cm, cheekbones 13.8 cm, forehead 13.0 cm and jawline 12.2 cm give: Your face shape: Oval.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I measure face length correctly?

Measure from the centre of your hairline straight down to the tip of your chin, keeping the tape on the surface of the face.

Which hairstyles suit an oval face?

Oval is the most balanced shape and suits most styles; the calculator's other results pages suggest cuts per shape.

Can face shape change with weight?

Yes - weight gain tends to add width and can move a result towards round; large weight loss can do the opposite.

Is a photo-based detector better?

Photo tools estimate the same landmarks automatically; manual measurements entered here are usually more repeatable.
