Calculator Guides

Finance & Salary Guides

Salary tools start from CTC/basic pay and show every deduction openly; savings-scheme tools (Sukanya, SCSS, RD) use the latest notified rates (8.2% for Sukanya and SCSS in Oct–Dec 2026) and let you change the rate; pay-commission tools are labelled estimates until the government notifies final figures; insurance tools (LIC, RPLI, PLI) show estimates, and LIC’s official illustration is final.

  • In-Hand Salary Calculator — use it when you want to see your take-home pay after deductions from your CTC or basic pay.
  • HRA Calculator — use it when you want to work out your house rent allowance and its tax treatment.
  • Sukanya Calculator — use it when you are planning savings for a girl child under the Sukanya Samriddhi scheme.
  • SCSS Calculator — use it when you are estimating maturity value under the Senior Citizens Savings Scheme.
  • 7th Pay Calculator — use it when you want to check salary under the 7th Pay Commission structure.

Health & Fitness Guides

Health tools use standard formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor for BMR/TDEE); enter honest activity levels; screening tools like Visceral Fat give a risk category, not a diagnosis — see a doctor for medical decisions.

Education & Exam Guides

CGPA tools multiply credits by grade points — always use YOUR university’s scale (each tool states the scale it uses and the site carries separate tools for VIT, SRM, Saveetha, KL and VTU); exam tools (JEE, GATE, UPSC, CET) apply the official marking/percentile method and are estimates until official keys and normalisation are out.

Astrology & Numerology Guides

These tools follow the traditional published methods and state them openly; chart-based tools (Darakaraka, Atmakaraka, Shadbala) rank or total the values you enter from your kundli — they do not generate a birth chart.

Everyday Calculation Guides

Everyday tools (dates, fuel, toll, bills) are planning estimates — official bills and plaza charges are final; check the worked example on each tool to confirm the method matches your case.

How to Read Any Result on MiniToolLab

  1. Check the formula section — it states the exact method and assumptions.
  2. Compare the worked example with your own numbers.
  3. If a tool says “estimate”, treat official tables (LIC, KSEB, your university, the court) as final.
  4. If a rate can change (DA, HRA, interest rates), update the editable field with the latest notified valu

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need an account to use these guides or calculators?

No. Every guide and calculator on MiniToolLab is free and works without signup.

Why do two tools exist for the same university or exam?

Because schemes differ — for example VTU has a 2018-scheme SGPA tool and a general CGPA tool. Each tool states the scheme or scale it uses; pick the one matching your batch.

Are the finance results final?

Tools using notified rates (Sukanya, SCSS at 8.2% for Oct–Dec 2026) follow the official rate. Estimate tools — 8th Pay, LIC, PLI, toll, court fees — are clearly labelled; official tables are final.

Can I suggest a new calculator?

Yes — use the site’s contact options to suggest a tool; calculators with clear demand are added first.
